Business Agility & Vision

With the intense focus on rapidly changing IT tools and trends, it's easy to get distracted from the main reason we embrace new IT capability and agile practices: to make our organization as a whole faster, more adaptive and more responsive. Achieving this business agility does not happen only by embracing agile teams and new technologies. We need decision aids and prioritization frameworks to enable rapid feedback loops and coordination between business needs and our technical teams who execute. The organization’s functional leaders and top-level decision makers must be intimately bought-in and involved in the changes necessary for enabling this Agility.

Techtown's Business Agility training focuses on the rapid, frequent delivery of value and a holistic, enterprise-wide ethic of adaptiveness and lightweight front-end decision making. Our Business Agility consulting practice allows you to link the needs and decisions of your leadership to the execution capacity of your teams and contributors.

Assessments

The first thing we do to help you orient and baseline your business agility is conduct a short, lightweight workshop with the decision makers and sponsors of your agile maturity or adoption efforts (). The outcome of this session is an informal statement of goals and alignment which we use to inform any subsequent coaching, training, or assessment services.

Next we ask you to perform a slightly more in-depth "TeamHealth" assessment workshop (2-3 hours per team). This is a powerful deep-dive strategic retrospective that focuses on the top areas that affect team performance and health. Our expert facilitates the completion of our unique 360 TeamHealth Radar covering the 5 key dimensions of a healthy Agile team (Clarity, Performance, Leadership, Culture, Foundation). The facilitator then engages the team in a healthy and open discussion around analyzing their radar results and reviewing their Strengths, Improvements and Top Impediments to growth. The final output is a team Growth Plan with key outcomes the team wants to achieve within the next few months.

Outcomes of the initial Agile assessment:

  • Team’s understanding of the key areas that affect team health and performance.
  • Completion of the 360 TeamHealth Radar assessment.
  • Analysis of the results and variances between the responses.
  • Review the team’s strengths, celebrate success!
  • Review the team’s improvements and opportunities.
  • Targeted Just-In-Time coaching on top skills gaps for the team.
  • Team Growth Plan with actionable deliverables for the next quarter.
